When I first started ED 205 I thought that we would just be doing basic computer usage. I am very happy that it was not just another computer class. I loved the format of how we have tied everything back to the reason why we are taking this class in the first place EDUCATION. I have found some things in this class that I don’t think I would teach without using. I think that MACUL and RUBISTAR would benefit me the most in my classroom. I am plan to eventually sign up with MACUL for an account of my own. Another thing I would like is to subscribe to a couple journals. This way I can always stay updated. You can never stop learning new things when your a teacher or you’ll never suceed. I plan to stay on top with technology in my classroom, I have found it to come very handy in my teachings.
Constructivism
When I was reading about constructivism I started thinking about standardized testing. I have a very difficult time being tested on standard things a student my age should know. I prefer testing the student to see what they are capable of learning. The reason why I agree with constructivism learning is because it is based on the students. The students take part, rather than acting as just lab rats. I feel this process allows the teacher to learn more about his/her students and also allows the teacher to reach the level needed for each student. After reading the articles listed on our ED 205 website, I don’t understand why every teacher wouldn’t choose this route.
